| My photography delves
into the mysteries and secret histories that are found in everyday landscapes.
There are many stories implied in overlooked and overgrown sites in states
of transition, where forces of nature and man have left their marks. A
splash of paint here, a gouge in a wall there. Footprints and tracks in
the dirt. Strangely painted stucco walls. The debris of a workday. These
offhanded elements combine with the natural textures and forms of a space
to give a hint of an unknown human presence, creating a starting point
for an array of questions about the circumstances and the people who contributed
to each ambiguous tableau
Photography is an act of discovery for me, on both a physical and spiritual level. The meditative qualities of the images are a reflection of my personal quest for meaning and understanding, while the structural content is an echo of my past interest and training in architecture. |
